Does anyone else find it strange that we say “Happy Easter” at this time of year?
It just seems an odd greeting to use in the context of a brutal execution and controversial resurrection. Macabre, even.
Then again, there is the fact that this particular crucifixion and 3-day death is the foundation upon which Christianity rests. So, you could say it single-handedly makes millions of people happy.
Weird? Somewhat. Unless you know why Christians get so excited about God finding it necessary to slaughter and resurrect his son. And what sort of evidence they base this crazy belief upon.
This Easter, I suggest you spend some time reading up on the whole thing. You could start here.
